Urban Transformation

CASE STUDY:
Historic Revitalization

Breathing new life into our cities and towns.

Dranoff Properties has carried out some of the most significant historic revitalization projects in the nation. Fortune magazine reported that “Dranoff gives Americans a chance to live in the past.” The imaginative restoration of industrial buildings left abandoned at the end of the 20th century has created dynamic new communities that help attract affluent residents back to the urban core.

Locust on the Park
Originally built for the Lanston Monotype Company and later occupied by the National Publishing Company in 1997, Locust on the Park is now home to 152 spectacular true loft apartments whose original architectural details add to their intrinsic charm. Delivered eight years before the completion of the Schuylkill River Park, Locust on the Park helped revitalize Center City’s waterfront and drive expansion westward.

The Left Bank
Following the success of Locust on the Park, Dranoff Properties embarked on the single largest residential historic rehabilitation project in the history of Pennsylvania and one of the largest properties on the national register of historic places to be converted to residential use. The Left Bank, which includes more than 120,000 sq. ft. of retail and office space and 282 luxury loft rental apartments, has been widely lauded for the adaptive reuse of the former GE Building. The project was acknowledged by Urban Land Institute with an Award for Excellence.

The Victor
Hailed as “the most important project on the waterfront” by The Wall Street Journal, The Victor, Camden New Jersey’s first market-rate luxury residential development in over 50 years - spearheaded the revitalization of the Camden Waterfront as a world-class residential, corporate and tourist destination. Once home of the legendary Victrola home phonograph, radio and television manufacturing plant, The Victor was expertly transformed from an abandoned and boarded up bulk into 341 luxury loft apartments complete with ground floor restaurants, bars, shops and offices.

Venice Lofts
Consisting of three brand new buildings blended with four historic textile mill structures, Venice Lofts is the first large-scale luxury loft apartment and townhome community to open in Manayunk’s downtown in a decade. The huge success of Venice Lofts exemplifies Dranoff Properties proven ability to develop ground-up residential alongside existing historic structures.
